GTTL Presentation

Went to GTTL student presentations. Have called the program's director, Prof. Shelton before, knew what it was. Heavy connection to industry, especially port of Seattle/Tacoma. Not sure transportation/logistics is what I need.
There were 9 presentations, each in 5 min according to the rule. The first few were surprisingly about trade/protectionism.

Heard of the new term: technical barrier. (labor/env., etc.)

Two keynode speaker, one from a big logistic company. Definitely not connecting to the topic.

The other more dynamic, China/Seattle Business Concil chief. Formerly Foggy Bottom guy, Consulate chief in Shanghai. Touched on macro-eco, monetary/fiscial, geo-political issues. Very interesting.

More fun during Q&A. People asked some interesting questions, e.g. trade dispute b/w China and US, China and Taiwan. Both speakers provided some insightful answers. It was the highlight of the seminar.

After Q&A, it is social time. Asked Mr. Borich about the likely hood of T-bill in Sino-US trade. He thought I had more questions and seeked me out.
The concil he heads has several public events. One in mid-June that I will likely to go.

Also met Ding LuZhou and another girl from Shanghai.
