Reformating and installing from Windows XP CD

On the weekend, a friend asked me to reformat a hard drive by deleting everything on that hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows XP from the CD. The laptop, Windows XP and all devices are working OK.

After the laptop successfully boots from the CD, a message appears on the screen saying that "INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 32768. Setup cannot continue, press any key to exit". I then google it but could not find a right answer to show me how to fix this problem.

Can you help? Thanks in advance.
